I actually did get moon cakes today (went out with a family friend here in Boston), but due to a huge lunch, late dinner, plus cake for my roommate's birthday, there wasn't stomach room for them. Alas, but prolly tomorrow.
Speaking of my roommate's birthday, the cake-baking was conducted in complete secrecy. We made it yesterday while she was visiting a friend at that one college in New Haven (:P), and since she's planning to be a bio major, we stuck a bunch of candles off-center and called it the nucleolus. We then used icing to draw in the nuclear membrane, Golgi body, and ER, and jellybeans were the mitochondria. Round sprinkles for ribosomes, and green crystal ones for the cytoskeleton finished the job, and it was beautiful. ^_^
Classes going smoothly, with the exception of a 3:30 bedtime Thursday morning. Because I just changed Calc classes, I got the first problem set later than most. The prof was kind enough to give me an extension (which I ended up using after all), but he seemed most reluctant, so I did as much as I could that night. It eventually reached the point that I was confusing addition and multiplication (more than usual, I mean), so I just dropped my books and went to sleep.
Speaking of calc, my prof definitely has a French accent, which makes him automatically awesome. I have also found a fellow Mizzy on my floor, so I am Happy.
Taekwondo is absolutely amazing. It's so very stress-relieving to kick and punch and yell.
Symphony orchestra has also started. Suffice it to say that I have a lot of practicing to do.
First exam's Friday, which should be interesting.
And I apologize for the lack of coherence between the last three paragraphs. If they can be called that. :P
Otherwise, miss you all very much. I'm sorry I haven't been on chat, but I'm trying to avoid sitting in my room by myself while I adjust (yes, of course I'm still adjusting), so please bear with me. Hope you're all doing well!
